KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Kenrick D. Cato
Kenrick D. Cato, PhD, RN, is a Professor of Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania and a Nurse Scientist for Pediatric Data & Analytics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Cato's research integrates machine learning, clinical decision support, and human-systems design to improve patient outcomes and clinician experience. Among his numerous research projects, he is particularly proud of the CONCERN Early Warning System, which he co-leads.
Dr. Cato has held several leadership positions within the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), including serving as a board member, conference co-chair, chair of the Nursing Informatics Working Group, and convening member of AMIA's 25x5 Task Force to Reduce Documentation Burden.
He is the recipient of AMIA's 2023 Leadership Award and a 2024 co-recipient of the Donald A.B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Vincent Guilamo-Ramos
Vincent Guilamo-Ramos is Executive Director of the Institute for Policy Solutions and holds the Leona B. Carpenter Chair in Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. He is Founding Director of the Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health (CLAFH). Dr. Guilamo-Ramos is a nurse practitioner dually licensed in adult health (ANP-BC) and psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHNP-BC).
Widely regarded as an expert, scholar, and leader in social determinants of health (SDOH) and in developing, evaluating, and translating family-based adolescent and young adult sexual and reproductive health interventions, Dr. Guilamo-Ramos’ research has been funded externally for over two decades by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and other private and philanthropic organizations.
He is a leader in addressing the Latino HIV Cascading Disaster, with research focused on the role of families in promoting adolescent and young adult health among Latinos and other underserved communities, with a special focus on preventing HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, and improving care outcomes for youth receiving HIV prevention and care services.
Dr. Guilamo-Ramos has published extensively in leading scientific journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, The British Medical Journal, The Lancet, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, The Lancet HIV, Clinical Infectious Diseases, JAMA Pediatrics, Pediatrics, and the American Journal of Public Health. His research and scholarship have been featured by CNN, The New York Times, NPR, and The Washington Post. In addition, he is a contributing writer for MedPage Today.
Dr. Guilamo-Ramos served as co-chair of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) and was a member of the ad hoc National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Committee on Unequal Treatment Revisited: The Current State of Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Healthcare. He currently serves on the Board of UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization.
